Urtudu

Privacy Policy

Last updated September 16, 2026 · Effective with Urtudu version 1.2.0 · Operator: BusyCap LLC (United States) · Contact: urtuduapp@gmail.com

Urtudu is a daily planner and journal for iPhone. This policy describes what the app keeps on your phone, the few things that leave it, who receives them, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not skimmed; where the app’s screens say the same thing in fewer words, this page is the full version.

The short version
  • What you write never leaves your phone. Entries, moods, tasks, notes, links, locations and photos are stored only on your device. Nothing you write is ever uploaded, analyzed, sold, shared, or used to train AI.
  • We never ask to track you. Urtudu does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), never shows Apple’s tracking prompt, and does not track you across other apps or websites.
  • Four services receive a small amount of non-content data so the app can unlock Pro, update itself, and tell us whether our ads work: Apple, RevenueCat, Expo and Meta, as described below.
  • No account, no ads in the app, no crash reporting today.

1. What stays on your phone

Everything you put into Urtudu — daily entries, moods, tasks and subtasks, notes, links, locations, photos, reminders and settings — is stored in a private database inside the app’s own storage on your device, protected by iOS. The app has no account system and no server of its own. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your phone; a task reminder shows only the task name and time.

If you use Apple’s device backup (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), the app’s storage is included in that backup like any other app’s data, under your own Apple account and Apple’s terms. Urtudu does not run its own backup or sync. Optional, opt-in cloud backup may be offered in a future version; if it is, it will be off by default and described here before it ships.

2. What leaves your phone, and who receives it

PurposeWhat is sentWho receives itWhat is never included
Purchases (Urtudu Pro) Your App Store receipt; an anonymous RevenueCat app-user ID generated on your device; Apple’s per-app vendor identifier (IDFV); your IP address; device model, iOS version and app version; the Meta anonymous ID described below (so a purchase can be counted as a purchase in our ads reporting) Apple (App Store / StoreKit) and RevenueCat, Inc. (our purchase-management service) Anything you wrote; your name or email (Apple does not share them with us)
App updates A request for the current version of the app’s code: the app version and runtime version, platform, and your IP address Expo (Expo Application Services), which hosts the app’s updates Anything you wrote; any identifier tied to you
Measurement (did our ads work?) Anonymous app events — “installed”, “opened”, and via RevenueCat “purchased” — with an anonymous ID generated by the Meta SDK on your device, device model, iOS version, app version, language, time zone and IP address. Apple’s SKAdNetwork separately reports aggregated install attribution to Meta without identifying you Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook / Instagram ads) and Apple (SKAdNetwork) Anything you wrote; the advertising identifier (IDFA) — the app never requests tracking permission, so it is never read; anything about how you use the app beyond open and purchase
Crash reporting None — the app has no crash-reporting or analytics service today. If one is ever added, it will exclude journal content and be described here first

These services process the data above under their own privacy policies: Apple (apple.com/legal/privacy), RevenueCat (revenuecat.com/privacy), Expo (expo.dev/privacy), Meta (meta.com/privacy). Urtudu configures Meta’s SDK with advertiser-ID collection disabled and without the tracking prompt, and never logs custom events; the events above are the SDK’s automatic install-and-open signals plus the purchase event RevenueCat forwards.

3. Things you start yourself

Some flows hand data to another app or service only when you tap:

4. What Urtudu never does

No ads inside the app. No selling, renting or sharing your content. No AI training on your journal. No analytics on what you write. No advertising identifier and no tracking prompt. No cross-app or cross-site tracking. No “Do Not Track” response is needed because the app does not track.

5. Your choices and control

6. Retention

Your content stays on your device until you delete it. Purchase records are kept by Apple and RevenueCat for as long as needed to honor your purchase (restore, refunds, subscription status) and for their own legal obligations. Update-server request logs and measurement events are retained by Expo and Meta under their policies; we keep no copy of either.

7. Children

Urtudu is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has used the app and any data reached a service above, contact us and we will help remove it.

8. California residents

The categories of information described in section 2 (purchase identifiers, device information, anonymous app-event data) are shared with the named service providers for the stated purposes only. Urtudu does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and does not track users over time across third-party websites or apps, so it does not respond to Do Not Track signals. To exercise any right to know or delete, use section 5 or email us.

9. Security

Your journal is stored under iOS data protection in the app’s private container. Every connection to the services in section 2 uses HTTPS. No service can reach your content because the app never sends it.

10. Changes

If what leaves your phone ever changes, this policy changes first, with a new “last updated” date, and the app’s Privacy screen (Settings → Privacy → “What does leave your phone”) is updated in the same release.
